chapter 10

it was about the life of grandmother Baxter and how she mat her husband G. Phillips.in a hospital as she worked as a nurse and who loyal to his family Phil was. the grandmother is a head apishly in the police station and maya and baily was moved up a grade because they were smarter than the other kids in there grade level-and they live a great life i the city and they love the new foods they get

Chapter Nine

In Chaper nine, Maya's father came down to Stamps,Arkansas to visit her and Bailey. She was at first surprised at how tall and
handsome he was. He owned a grey car, which made her beleive he was rich. He spoke proper english a well. Maya said that the
week her father came, the Store ws filled with people that went to school with her father and people that heard about him.
Maya soon began like her father because he appeared to be intruding in all of her most private moments. He then told Maya and
Bailey that he was taking them to see their mother in St. Loiu. At first, she was terrified because she had no idea what her mother would be like. However, when she finally met her, she and Bailey were astounded at her beauty.

chapter 8

in this chapter it is about how maya had to deal with wight peoepl and there cash black people could not eat vanillla ice cream omly on july 4 and that maya had only two new clouths a year and had to re sole there shoes and they got gifes from there dad and mom but did not see thim and that made thim mad and sad

Chapter Seven

Chapter Seven was Maya talking about her grandmother. She was married three times, indicating that she was very pretty when
she was younger. Momma, as she is called by Maya and Bailey, was the one who owned the Store that all of the black people
went to. Momma was the only black woman maya had seen that was called mrs. by the people. There was an imcident where
a man was hunted for assaulting white womanhood. Momma and Uncle Willie hid the man in her store and then sent him with
a load of supplies to get through the road. He was caught however and he told them that Momma hid him in the store. When
she was brought to trial. When she told them she was the owner of the store, all of the whie people laughed, but were still n
shock that she was the owner of the Store.

chapter six

It talks about how maya angelo had problems with a reverend called Howard thomas. It wasent becaues he was obees and discustind, and the fact that he never remembered her name or her brothes[Bailey] was insulting but it wasent enugh to make them hate him. It was the action in the dinner table. He ate the biggest brownestand best parts of the chikenat every sunday meal. And it mainly talks about how he prayed a lot at the table until the food got cooled at the cathlic school and how he would talk with her uncle about doing it and how black people will get punished becaues white folks said that he did it to a white women. And thats mostly it.

Chapter 5

Chapter 5 discusses a few thiing. It talked about how Maya's grandma Henderson had two rules, "Thou shall not be dirty" and "Thou shall not be impudent were the two commandments of Grandmother Henderson upon which hung their total salvation! Each night in the bitterest winter they were forced to wash thepr faces, arms, necks, legs and feets before going to sleep: She said that unprofane people couldn't control venturing into profanity. Maya's mom told her cleaniness was next to Godliness , and dirtiness was the inventor of misery. The impudent child was detested by God and a shame to its paents and could bring destruction to its house and line!!
